Brookwood is a secure, gated housing complex located in Johannesburg. This project is part of a pilot program for rolling out solar on all of the units in the complex.

Utility

These digital assets give the token holders ownership of solar cells that distribute revenues from the electricity that is generated, paid out every three months, at a forecasted rate of 12% per cell, per annum.

Every Digital Asset represents real ownership in the underlying cell (or bundle of cells). All documentation is embedded into the asset (it’s transparent and unchangeable). Revenues are paid out through a smart contract, so you can always verify the fairness of payouts.

The Finer Details

This solar project is on a 20-year lease. This installation is already complete and you will receive your first income at the end of August 2023.

At the end of the 20-year lease period, you will not be able to take possession of your solar cells. The consumer (Brookwood Complex) shall have the right to enter into a new lease or purchase your solar cells. In both cases, fair market value will be determined and incomes will be to the benefit of Token holders. Payouts will take place in the stablecoin, USDC, and will be distributed by Momint every three months after the initial solar plant installation.

Your Impact:

Each individual solar cell will reduce an estimated 118kg of CO2 over the 20 year term, which is equivalent to:

• 2 seedlings grown for 10 years
• 4.5 lamps switched to LED
• 473 km driven by an average passenger vehicle (from just a single solar cell!)
