This digital asset is linked to 1 solar cell at Tafelsee, in Cape Town, South Africa. This initiative gives you the opportunity to own 2 solar cell and earn a forecasted income ofย R100 per year ($6) from the electricity generated.
About The Project
Each digital asset is linked to solar cells, which will be installed at Tafelsee, in the Northern Suburbs of Cape Town, South Africa. This initiative gives you the opportunity to own one (or more) solar cells and earn a forecasted income from the electricity generated.
Buying tokens in this project supports the move away from the national power grid, helping to combat the South African energy crisis.
Passive income is possible through this mechanism because these solar cells will generate electricity for the next 20 years. Tafelsee Body Corporate has committed to purchasing this solar electricity for that period through a standard power purchase agreement.
About The Location
The Tafelsee apartment development is located in the Loevenstein Valley of Tygerberg in the Northern Suburbs of Cape Town, South Africa. Designed and built in the early 1970s, Tafelsee consists of two high-rise buildings, each containing 12 storeys of residential apartments that have become a well-known feature of the Northern Suburbs skyline.
288 separate homes make up the Tafelsee community, with 144 units in each building, individually named Seesig and Tafelsig (Afrikaans for Sea View and Table [Mountain] View). Residents enjoy 3 acres of beautiful grounds that include swimming pools and outside recreation spaces. Popular with young families and professionals, it continues to be an affordable, practical and peaceful place to call home.
A central body corporate manages shared services, including electricity, and they collect payments as part of the residentโs levy.
There will be two separate systems, one for each of the apartment blocks, mounted on the carports surrounding the buildings.
Utility
These digital assets give the token holders ownership of solar cells that distribute revenues from the electricity that is generated, paid out every three months, at a forecasted return of 144% over 20 years*.

The Finer Details
This solar project is on a 20-year lease. Your earnings begin as soon as the solar plant is fully installed – this is when the lease period begins. The installation process can take anywhere from 2 – 6 months from the close of the crowd sale. In some cases, solar projects are energised before reaching final completion, which results in early bonus earnings before the lease period.
At the end of the 20-year lease period, you will not be able to take possession of your solar cells. The consumer (Tafelsee Apartments) shall have the right to enter into a new lease or purchase solar cells. In both cases, appropriate experts shall be used to determine the fair market values for the lease amount or purchase price. Note that the value of the solar cell installation may be determined to be zero. Payouts will take place in the stablecoin, USDC, and will be distributed by Momint every three months after the initial solar plant installation.
Your Impact:
